Job summary

KSB Recruitment is recruiting two experienced chefs for a prison establishment near York on a long-term temporary basis. The role focuses on supervising kitchen activities, maintaining food hygiene standards and ensuring the smooth, safe running of the kitchen.

Daytime hours, 7:30/8:00am to 4:30/5:30pm, five days out of seven with weekends as required. Enhanced DBS & prison vetting are required; there may be a permanent position for good performers.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years' experience in a chef or kitchen supervisory role.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety.
• Ability to supervise others and maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Supervise prisoners working in the kitchen and provide clear instructions.
• Maintain food hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Ensure kitchen activities run safely and efficiently.
• Follow prison security procedures and site protocols.
