Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Chef at HMP Altcourse to supervise and coach prisoners in producing 1200+ meals daily, three times a day. You’ll maintain food safety, hygiene and allergen awareness while overseeing cleaning, stock rotation and safety procedures to support rehabilitation goals.

The role requires City & Guilds 706/1&2 or NVQ L1-L2 in food production, with industrial catering experience and a commitment to positive change within a prison environment.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 in food production and cooking.
• Industrial catering experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience instructing or supporting people with challenging behaviour is advantageous.
• Experience in a prison or forces environment is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach prisoners in producing 1200+ meals daily, three times a day.
• Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen awareness.
• Oversee cleaning procedures, stock rotation and adherence to Health & Safety procedures.
