Job summary

KSB Recruitment is hiring a Kitchen Manager to oversee a large-scale catering operation in a secure prison in North Yorkshire. You will lead catering staff and supervise prisoners, ensuring meals are prepared safely, on time and to high standards.

The role requires strong leadership and organisational skills with a solid food-safety background. Salary is £19 per hour, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with development opportunities within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience as Kitchen Manager or senior catering management.
• Experience leading kitchen teams and high-volume production.
• Strong knowledge of stock control, ordering and kitchen operations.
• Comfortable using computer systems for inventory and ordering.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of a high-volume catering kitchen.
• Lead and support a team of approximately 16 staff.
• Supervise prisoners undertaking kitchen duties.
• Manage stock control, ordering and inventory systems.
