Job summary

Unilever seeks a Multi-Skilled Day Engineer at Port Sunlight Factories (Personal Care) site-based to drive focused maintenance and continuous improvement. You will lead PM/AM, apply WCM tools, and ensure safe, reliable line performance with strong safety, quality and cost-improvement focus.

The role is on-site in the UK, full-time, offering development opportunities in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with WCM and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.
• PM/AM and focused improvement experience.
• Strong safety culture and ability to manage permits to work.
• Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background with dual-skill capability.

Responsibilities

• Health, Safety and Environment: identify hazards, ensure control measures, LOTO, training, and safe behavior.
• Quality: ensure equipment meets quality procedures and use process controls.
• Customer Service: prioritise and complete improvements to increase line throughput and reduce losses.
• Cost: lead cost optimization and elimination of losses not impacting OEE.
• 5S: ensure standards are defined and followed.
• Autonomous Maintenance: support AM activities and transfer knowledge to operators.
• Preventative Maintenance: drive root-cause analysis and countermeasures; review KPIs.
• Focused Improvement: monitor losses, identify patterns, lead improvements from top losses.
• Training and Development: ensure team skills are captured in the skills matrix.
• Early Management: maintain technical docs, participate in reviews and support new equipment/project changes.
• General: maintain clear internal communications, maximize downtime for maintenance, and support line managers.
