Job summary

Liberty London plc is seeking a Day Security Officer to maintain a calm, confident, and visible presence across the store. You will handle incidents, support loss prevention, and ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and colleagues throughout the day.

The role requires a valid SIA licence and experience in security, preferably in retail or customer-facing settings. A proactive, courteous approach and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence is required.
• Experience in security, ideally in retail or a customer-facing environment.
• Calm under pressure with strong written and verbal communication.
• First aid qualification and experience with CCTV/access control would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Handle complaints and investigate security incidents, producing accurate written reports.
• Support the security team in apprehending shoplifters in accordance with Liberty policy.
• Operate CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, fire systems and IT security equipment.
• Ensure customers, visitors, contractors and staff feel safe at all times.
• Engage with retail departments to foster a security-aware culture and answer queries confidently.
• Ensure store opening and closing procedures are followed correctly.
• Uphold Health, Safety and Welfare standards and implement emergency procedures when required.
• Respond to first aid incidents and complete documentation.
• Manage Cash Office duties including opening, distributing cash bags and emailing daily discrepancy reports.
• Control and order change floats to keep the shop floor stocked.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complaints and investigate security incidents, processing accurate written reports on injuries, thefts, assaults, vandalism and other relevant matters.
• Support the security team in the apprehension of shoplifters, always acting in accordance with Liberty policy and procedures.
• Operate and maintain proficiency across all security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, fire systems and IT security equipment.
• Ensure all customers, visitors, contractors and staff feel safe and well looked after at all times.
• Build a security-aware culture across the store by engaging with retail departments and responding to their queries with confidence.
• Ensure all store opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
• Uphold Health, Safety and Welfare standards for staff and customers, implementing emergency procedures when required.
• Respond professionally to first aid incidents and complete all required documentation.
• Manage Cash Office duties including opening, distributing cash bags and emailing daily discrepancy reports to Sales Managers.
• Control and order change floats, ensuring the shop floor is always sufficiently stocked.

About You

• You hold a valid SIA licence.
• You have experience in a security role, ideally within retail or a customer-facing environment.
• You are calm under pressure with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• You take a proactive, courteous approach with customers, visitors and colleagues alike.
• You have a solid understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities in a public-facing environment.
• A first aid qualification and experience with security systems such as CCTV and access control would be a bonus, as would a background in luxury or high footfall retail.

Additional Information

This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week, across our Flagship Store and Head Office. Flexibility may be required to support the needs of the business.
