Job summary

HIVED is seeking a Day Ops Manager to lead depot and on-the-road performance, overseeing day-to-day and forward labour planning. You will manage shifts, drive service levels, and deliver robust handovers in a fast-paced, on-site role within a dynamic, climate-tech logistics startup.

Lead a team of Coordinators, optimize DSP/driver capacity, and ensure safety, SLA delivery, and cost control while embracing HIVED values and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years’ experience leading fast-paced OTR / dispatch / last-mile operations.
• Strong command of driver operations, route execution, and dispatch accuracy.
• Hands-on shift leadership with ability to manage 30–100+ staff via supervisors.
• High urgency, strong communication, strong escalation habits.
• Comfortable solving real-time operational pressure during peak windows.
• Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift during rotation - managing Shift Managers, Coordinators, Fleet Specialist - to deliver exceptional OTR & UTR day-time performance.
• Receive handover from Night Manager, deliver handover to mid-Shift Manager.
• Be the GM’s primary support & deliver strong handovers
• Lead & inspire, & develop and performance manage, team on OM’s shift rotation.
• OTR: DSP management - DSP Capacity, Account management relationships, and performance management.
• UTR: Labour planning for week-ahead & night.
• Succession planning for week ahead + 6-week glance for their side of the week, & peaks.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives & Develop standards and operating procedures.
