Job summary

Tripadvisor, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist on the experimentation team to measure the impact of product changes across Viator, defining key metrics and ensuring sound decisions. You will build reusable tooling, design end-to-end experiments, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

You will grow in causal inference under senior mentorship, applying rigorous analysis to travel experiences with data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in data science or a similar quantitative role supporting product teams.
• Strong foundations in statistics, experimentation, and causal inference.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with exposure to modelling or ML techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyse experiments end to end with product teams.
• Turn product questions into testable hypotheses with metrics and guardrails.
• Define and instrument feature-level metrics and assess sensitivity.
• Investigate results for data quality and integrity before conclusions.
• Build reusable queries, tooling and templates for faster experiments.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Look beyond results to understand applicability across users and markets.
• Carry out analysis beyond experiments, including opportunity sizing and funnel analysis.
