Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead the Applied Methods Data Science team in the UK. You will oversee a team of data scientists, align with Autonomy stakeholders, and drive research into evaluations that accelerate delivery toward customer commitments.

You will shape roadmaps, hire and mentor, and invest in tooling to scale capabilities. We value strong collaboration, statistical rigour, and hands-on ML experience as we advance AV2.0 across precision and safety.

Qualifications

• Three+ years’ experience managing a team of five or more ICs.
• Track record of growing and maintaining high-performing teams.
• Strong data science foundation with experience applying causal-inference methods.
• Experience setting technical direction and reviewing designs/proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data scientists and collaborate with Autonomy stakeholders.
• Set direction, grow the team, and build relationships with customers.
• Review technical proposals and designs to maintain rigour and fidelity.
• Monitor delivery status, surface risks, and manage trade-offs with customers.
• Hire and onboard data scientists and invest in tooling for scale.
• Guide career growth and build progression pathways.
• Foster cross-functional relationships with customers.
