Wayve in London is seeking a Manager for the applied methods Data Science team. You will lead data scientists turning analytic work into evals and insights to accelerate delivery and scale through headcount and technology.

The role focuses on setting priorities, overseeing proposals, monitoring delivery, hiring, and building cross-functional relationships to advance Wayve as a leader in end-to-end AI for autonomous mobility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience managing a team of 5+ ICs.
• Track record of growing and maintaining high-performing teams.
• Strong data science foundation including causal inference methods.
• Experience turning needs into team priorities and roadmaps.
• Ability to set technical direction and review designs.
• Comfortable planning roadmaps and managing expectations with customers.
• Able to work asynchronously across time zones with cross-functional partners.
• Curious about shaping AV2.0 and future autonomous mobility initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Set and align priorities across Autonomy, maintaining 3/6/12 month roadmaps.
• Review proposals and designs with technical leads to ensure rigour.
• Monitor status, surface schedule slippage, manage trade-offs with customers.
• Grow the team: hire and onboard data scientists; invest in tooling.
• Guide career growth conversations and build progression pathways.
• Build cross-functional relationships with customers and partners.
