Job summary

Wayve in London is hiring a Data Scientist to partner with AI Engineers, turning data into actionable guidance for improvements to the Wayve AI Driver. You’ll work with engineering and cross-functional teams to understand performance, validate requirements, and prioritise opportunities with evidence-driven reasoning.

The role is full-time in London with a hybrid model (two days per week in the office). You will design experiments, analyze real and simulated driving data, and influence strategy

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Data Science role.
• SQL production-level data-transformation pipelines.
• Experience designing robust real-world experiments (A/B tests).
• Strong statistical foundations; understanding distributions and frequentist assumptions.
• Proficiency with Python (pandas, sklearn, statsmodels, scipy) or R (dplyr, caret, stats).
• Ability to summarise and visualise findings and influence product direction.
• Comfort working asynchronously across time zones with cross-functional partners.
• Curiosity to help define AV2.0 and new tooling.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and iterate performance metrics for engineering progress.
• Design experiments and off-road measurements to meet product requirements safely.
• Investigate model training and inference bottlenecks.
• Test and validate hypotheses to unlock improvements in the Wayve AI Driver.
• Summarise and communicate findings to support prioritisation and strategy.
