Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a Senior Data Scientist. You will partner with engineering teams to derive actionable insights that guide improvements to the Wayve AI Driver, using experiments on real and simulated driving data to enhance safety and performance.

The role is full-time with a hybrid model, two days a week in the office. You will collaborate across time zones, communicate findings clearly, and influence product direction through data-driven insights that prioritise impactful

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Data Science role.
• Fluent querying and building large datasets, including production-level SQL.
• Experience designing robust real-world experiments (A/B tests) and evaluating statistics.
• Strong statistical foundations and knowledge of distributions and frequentist testing.
• Proficient in Python with data-science packages or R with data manipulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Formulating and iterating performance metrics to guide engineering progress.
• Designing experiments and off-road measurements to meet product requirements while ensuring safety and performance.
• Investigating model training and inference bottlenecks for improvements to the Wayve AI Driver.
• Identifying, testing and validating hypotheses to unlock improvements.
• Summarising, visualising and communicating findings to support prioritisation and strategy.
