Job summary

Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer to join on a 6-month contract and provide actionable legal advice on UK and EU data protection matters. You will guide GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international transfers and privacy documentation for AI-driven products and services.

The role requires UK-qualified solicitor status, strong data protection expertise, and the ability to work with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy/regulatory matters desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.
