Job summary

Elevate seeks an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month contract to advise on UK/EU data protection matters across AI products and services. You will draft privacy notices, DPAs, processing agreements and advise senior teams on GDPR compliance, international transfers and regulatory developments.

UK-qualified solicitor with in-house or tech-firm background preferred, able to work independently and partner with product, engineering and commercial teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified UK solicitor with data protection expertise.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology or SaaS businesses.
• In-house or technology-focused law firm background preferred.
• Able to work independently and engage with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.

Requirements

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law, ideally gained in-house or within a leading technology-focused law firm.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and wider EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
