Job summary

Elevate invites applications for a Data Privacy Lawyer to support AI-focused products in a fast-moving technology environment. This 6-month contract role focuses on providing pragmatic legal advice across UK and EU privacy matters.

You will advise on GDPR, DPIAs, data transfers and privacy documentation, and work with senior stakeholders to embed privacy by design across products and services.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI privacy matters desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
