Job summary

Elevate is working with an AI technology company seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6‑month contract to provide practical legal advice across privacy and data protection matters as the business scales AI‑driven products.

You will advise on UK GDPR, DPIAs, international data transfers and data‑sharing arrangements, draft privacy notices and DPAs, and work with commercial, product and engineering teams on privacy risk.

Qualifications

• Experience in data protection and privacy law, ideally in‑house or tech‑focused firm.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and wider EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
