Job summary

Elevate seeks an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer to support an AI technology business on a 6-month contract. You will advise across UK and EU data protection, GDPR compliance, DPIAs and data transfers, while guiding teams on privacy by design for AI products.

The role requires UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent, strong privacy law expertise, and the ability to engage senior stakeholders in a fast-paced technology environment.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy or data governance matters.
• Commercially minded; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.

• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
