Job summary

Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month contract to provide practical legal guidance across UK and EU privacy matters as the business scales AI products.

You will advise on GDPR, DPIAs, international transfers, DPAs and privacy notices, and work with product, engineering and commercial teams to embed privacy by design.

UK-qualified solicitor with strong privacy law experience is required, ideally in tech; remote/hybrid options may be considered.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent with strong data protection and privacy law experience.
• Experience in-house or at a leading technology-focused law firm is ideal.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

• Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
