Job summary

FRP Advisory Group is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join the Applications and Data team, helping build and support our Microsoft Fabric-based enterprise data platform and deliver trusted analytics across the organisation.

Reporting to the Data & Analytics Lead, you will design data models, pipelines and Power BI reports, set engineering standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise delivery while maintaining data quality and security.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Kimball dimensional modelling and dbt transformations.
• Proficiency in SQL and handling complex data structures.
• Experience building enterprise data warehouses or similar analytics platforms.
• Experience developing reliable ETL or ELT processes in the Medallion architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric data engineering (PySpark and dbt).
• Knowledge of data quality, testing, monitoring and operational support.
• Clear communication and ability to work independently while collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the data team, setting clear priorities and responsibilities.
• Guide technical work across reporting, data modelling, integration and engineering.
• Design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models and supporting data models.
• Set Power BI standards for architecture, development, governance, deployment and reuse.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and manage delivery.
• Partner with Data Engineering to build reliable data pipelines and connect sources, Fabric and Power BI.
• Maintain standards for data quality, security, performance, documentation and support.
• Train colleagues to contribute to Power BI work.
• Track the Microsoft Fabric roadmap and recommend relevant features for FRP.
• Travel to regional offices when needed for meetings, delivery and training.
