Job summary

Ground Control is seeking a data platform leader to own the Microsoft Fabric strategy, architecture, and migration across on-prem to cloud, driving scalable pipelines and trusted analytics. You’ll mentor engineers, set standards and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver value.

You will shape platform governance, performance and cost optimisation, while partnering with Microsoft and technical peers to retire legacy tooling and accelerate modern data capabilities across the business.

Qualifications

Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric architecture and implementation.
Experience leading large-scale data platform initiatives and migrations from on-prem to cloud.
Advanced SQL skills and query optimisation.
Experience designing analytical data models to support Power BI reporting.

Responsibilities

Own the technical direction of the Microsoft Fabric platform and architecture decisions.
Lead migration from on-premises data solutions to cloud-based Fabric.
Design, build and optimise data pipelines across Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse and Data Integration workloads.
Create and refine analytical data models for Power BI reporting and self-service analytics.
Establish engineering standards, documentation and knowledge-sharing practices.
