A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data, this highly visible role involves working closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving optimizing data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to delivery to front office/investment teams. You will utilize languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, and Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies in complex datasets. You will act as the main interface between data sourcing and engineering, serving as the point of contact for Traders.
The role also includes working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst at a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced programming languages for large dataset analysis are required, ideally within a financial services data team.
The position offers a base salary up to £125K plus a performance bonus. Initially, the role requires a 5-day office week, with the possibility of WFH 1-2 days per week once established.
