A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to make a newly created Data Analyst hire into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting into the Global Head of Data and taking on a highly visible role within the team, the hire will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving optimizing data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to delivery of datapoints to front office/investment teams.
You will utilize your technical skills in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, and Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex dataset analysis. The candidate will act as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and serve as the point of contact for Traders.
The role also involves working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst at a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced coding languages for analyzing large datasets in a financial services environment are required.
The compensation package includes a base salary of up to £125K plus a performance bonus that can be substantial. The initial work arrangement involves a 5-day office week, with the possibility of WFH 1-2 days per week once settled into the role.
