A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a newly created Data Analyst role within their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data and holding a highly visible position, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving optimization of data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to data delivery to front office/investment teams.
The candidate will utilize technical skills in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to perform quality checks, identify anomalies, and analyze complex datasets. They will serve as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and act as the point of contact for Traders.
Additional responsibilities include working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and helping develop a centralized data management platform.
Ideal candidates will have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst within a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced coding languages for large dataset analysis are required, preferably within a financial services data team.
The role offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a performance bonus. Initially, the role requires a 5-day office week, with the possibility of 1-2 days WFH once settled into the role.
