A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to make a newly created Data Analyst hire into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting into the Global Head of Data and taking on a highly visible role within the team, the hire will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. This role has a highly technical/engineering focus. You will optimize the operation and quality management of the internal data pipeline, overseeing raw data onboarding to delivery of datapoints to front office/investment teams. You will utilize languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to conduct quality checks and identify anomalies through complex dataset analysis. The hire will serve as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and be the point of contact for Traders.
The role also involves working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams to test new dataset onboarding platforms, set data governance metrics, and develop a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst at a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced coding languages for analyzing large datasets are required, ideally within a financial services data team.
The position offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a bonus that can be a significant percentage of the base salary for top performers. Initially, the role requires a 5-day office week, with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days per week once established.
