A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data and taking on a highly visible role, the hire will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving the optimization of data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to delivery to front office/investment teams.
You will utilize your technical skills in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex dataset analysis. The candidate will also serve as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering, acting as the point of contact for Traders.
The role includes working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst at a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced coding languages for analyzing large datasets in a financial services environment are required.
The compensation package includes a base salary of up to £125K plus a bonus, which can be substantial for top performers. Initially, the role requires a 5-day office week, with the possibility of WFH 1-2 days per week once settled in the role.
