A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data and taking on a highly visible role within the team, the successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. This role has a technical/engineering focus, involving optimizing data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to delivering data points to front office and investment teams.
You will utilize your technical skills in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex data analysis. You will serve as the primary interface between data sourcing and engineering, acting as the main contact for traders.
The role also involves working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst in a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced programming languages for analyzing large datasets are required, ideally within a financial services data team.
The role offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a performance bonus. Initially, the workweek is five days in the office, with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days per week once settled in the role.
