A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
This role reports to the Global Head of Data and involves working closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. It has a technical/engineering focus, including optimizing data pipeline operations and quality management, with oversight from raw data onboarding to delivery to front office/investment teams.
The candidate should have expertise in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex dataset analysis. The role acts as the main interface between data sourcing and engineering and is the primary contact for Traders.
Additional responsibilities include working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Ideal candidates will have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst within a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced programming languages analyzing large datasets are required.
The role offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a bonus that can be a significant percentage of the base for top performers. Initially, a 5-day office week is expected, with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days per week once settled into the role.
