Job summary

EY UK is seeking a Manager to lead data governance initiatives across client engagements, translating governance ambitions into practical change. You will base in Belfast or Derry/Londonderry, guiding ownership, standards, and controls for trusted data across industries.

You will mentor teams, collaborate across service lines, and drive delivery with a strong focus on data quality, lineage, and regulatory compliance, helping clients unlock value from information assets.

Qualifications

• A completed degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Significant experience in data governance, data management or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in common data governance methodologies such as DAMA – DMBOK2
• Proven experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Practical knowledge of governance operating models and core data governance principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• The ability to manage delivery effectively while maintaining a strong client experience.
• Experience coaching and developing others, together with the energy to support the growth of the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead data governance engagements from initial assessment through design and implementation, ensuring the work supports the client's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Help clients establish clear and practical governance operating models, with appropriate ownership and accountability for data.
• Lead governance work across key domains such as data quality and lineage, focusing activity on the areas that will create the greatest value and build trust in data.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
• Facilitate discussions with senior business and technology stakeholders, turning complex requirements into clear decisions and realistic roadmaps.
• Champion operational efficiency improvements on projects and internal initiatives and will consistently drive projects to completion, and ensure the work is of high quality.
• Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you’ll create innovative insights which will add value to both our clients and to the broader society.
