Job summary

Northern Trust in London is seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) lead to drive enterprise data quality across client, product, reference data and accounts. You will own subdomains, define data quality rules, and partner with business and technology to improve data integrity and enable governance.

The role requires advanced SQL, data profiling and practical MDM knowledge (match/merge, survivorship, golden records).

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills to query and analyze large datasets.
• Experience in data profiling and identifying data patterns and issues.
• Proven capability in data quality management including remediation tracking.
• Solid understanding of Master Data Management concepts (match/merge, survivorship, golden record).
• Experience with data governance practices, including metadata and lineage.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive resolution at the source.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication to present insights to stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead Master Data subdomains (Client, Product, Reference Data).
• Drive end-to-end data quality initiatives from profiling to remediation.
• Perform deep-dive data analysis to identify patterns and anomalies.
• Define and implement data quality rules, controls, and monitoring.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to resolve data issues at source.
• Lead data governance and stewardship, including CDEs, metadata, and lineage.
• Collaborate with technology and architecture on data ingestion and MDM enhancements.
• Drive continuous improvement of master data processes and data flows.
• Support regulatory, operational, and analytical data requirements.
• Act as SME for assigned domains and mentor junior analysts.
