Job summary

Torus Group is seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead the development and embedding of a robust Data Governance Framework across the Group. You will collaborate with data owners, stewards and senior leaders to ensure high-quality, well-defined and secure data to support decision-making.

In this hybrid role based in Liverpool, you will champion data as a strategic asset, drive improvements in governance and compliance, and guide a team including a Data Governance & Quality Analyst.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent with experience.
• Proven experience leading data governance in a complex or regulated organisation.
• Knowledge of data quality management and GDPR requirements.
• Experience using BI/reporting tools, such as Power BI.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of the Group's Data Governance Framework.
• Provide assurance to senior leaders by reporting on governance activities and maturity.
• Develop and maintain policies, standards and processes for data quality, metadata, data lineage, access and retention.
• Act as the central point of accountability for data governance activity across the Group.
• Support and advise the chairs of the Data Governance Steering Committee and Data Stewardship Committees.
• Provide expert guidance to data owners, data stewards and senior leaders on data management and disposal.
• Define and maintain data quality standards, rules and targets with stakeholders.
• Work with BI to oversee data quality reporting, dashboards and monitoring.
• Own and maintain organisational data dictionaries with consistent definitions across systems.
• Promote data governance principles through stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are documented, understood and applied.
• Lead and develop the Data Governance & Quality Analyst and Data Governance Apprentice.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, health and information governance requirements across responsibilities.
