Job summary

Joseph Rowntree Foundation in York is seeking a Data Governance Lead to drive the adoption of a new data governance framework. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with data owners and stewards to ensure quality, consistency and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

You will deliver governance tools, run workshops and training, and champion a culture where high-quality data is valued and understood. The role reports to the Business Insight Manager and is a fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing or embedding data governance frameworks and policies.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and embedding of JRHT’s Data Governance Framework.
• Document data assets with data owners and stewards; drive data quality improvements.
• Deliver training and facilitate workshops to build capability across the organisation.
• Develop governance standards, templates, tools and training materials.
• Establish data quality measures and monitoring processes.
• Provide expert advice on data governance matters.
• Support governance activities within change programmes and system implementations.
• Ensure compliance with data protection legislation and internal policies.
