Orbis is seeking a Data Governance Lead to shape and embed the firm’s Data Governance Framework across investment and core platforms. You will own the governance roadmap, drive data ownership, and ensure data quality standards align with the firm’s AI and regulatory objectives.

You will lead governance forums, partner with Architecture and Security, and foster a culture of responsible data ownership across the organization.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a data governance, data management or data risk role, with a track record of owning and driving a governance agenda.
• Proven experience of establishing or operating a data governance framework in asset management, with understanding of investment data.
• Practical experience defining data ownership and stewardship models, including domain registers and critical data identification.
• Experience designing and running data quality management through remediation and policy drafting.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM, applied pragmatically.
• Hands-on experience with data governance tooling (catalogue, glossary, lineage, data quality).
• Knowledge of data protection/regulatory obligations for a global asset manager.
• Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills for senior forums.

Responsabilités

• Set the direction for data governance: own the Framework and roadmap aligned with Data/AI Strategy and regulatory obligations.
• Lead governance forums, set agendas, drive decisions, and report governance maturity and risk to IT Governance Group.
• Establish clear accountability for data: registers, Data Sponsor/Owner, resolving ownership disputes, and supporting Owners across data quality and access control.
• Define data quality meaning with metrics, targets, and reporting; drive remediation for material quality issues.
• Draft and socialise governance policies and guidelines; apply controls proportionately to data classification and value.
• Partner with Architecture, Platform Engineering and Info Security to embed governance in design decisions.
• Support AI data readiness, ensuring data for AI/ML meets defined quality and lineage standards.
• Build data literacy and culture through guidance and practical support across business pillars.
