Job summary

B Lab in London is seeking a Data Governance Lead to own data standards, definitions, and sensitivity classifications across our data platform. You will help ensure compliance with relevant laws and documentation requirements while growing data literacy across the organization.

You will collaborate with the Senior Analytics Engineer and Data Engineer to ensure new models and pipelines are built to standard, enabling data-driven decisions and governance across pillars.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data modeling and/or data governance.
• SQL data fluency to audit and advise on governance implementation.
• Experience establishing and maintaining data standards, definitions, and sensitivity/classification frameworks.
• Experience communicating technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and driving adoption of standards across teams.
• Familiarity with data-related legal and regulatory requirements.
• Strong written communication skills; comfort building and maintaining clear documentation.
• Cross-team collaboration across the Data & AI department.
• Excellent communication skills for trainings or workshops on data governance.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Own Data Standards & Definitions and maintain sensitivity classifications.
• Ensure compliance of data platform and analytics with laws and internal policy.
• Drive adoption of data standards and build data literacy across the organization.
• Collaborate with Senior Analytics Engineer and Data Engineer to align models and pipelines to standards.
• Evaluate governance tooling and quantify impact of data literacy improvements.
