Job summary

DAC Beachcroft in London is seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to establish and continuously enhance our enterprise data governance framework. You will lead cross-functional governance across data owners, stewards and custodians to ensure data quality, protection and regulatory compliance.

You will define policies, drive KPIs, and partner with the DPO to support GDPR and DPIA activities, AI governance and third-party data handling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing or improving data governance in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and practical application.
• Experience with data catalogue, metadata and data lineage tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview).
• Knowledge of master data management principles and data quality practices.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to engage senior leadership.
• Experience balancing governance with operational delivery.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the firm's data governance framework.
• Define and maintain data quality standards, ownership models, metadata management and data lineage documentation.
• Drive data classification and access control across case management, finance and CRM systems.
• Establish and monitor data quality KPIs; work with stakeholders to resolve issues and root causes.
• Provide training and communication to enable data owners and stewards.
• Partner with the DPO to ensure governance and regulatory compliance.
• Support GDPR compliance activities, including DPIAs and governance of data used in AI/ML.
• Act as primary contact for data-related regulatory and governance matters.
• Define policies for third-party and AI vendor data handling.
• Chair cross-functional data governance forum; document decisions and actions.
