Job summary

Howden seeks a Data Governance Lead to drive the development and ongoing improvement of our data governance framework across the Group. You will embed a culture of excellence, shape governance policy, and enable adoption with clear ownership roles under the Head of Data Governance.

You will assess maturity, analyse outcomes, and define areas for improvement, coordinating with data champions and business partners in a hybrid London setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Governance practitioner or similar role (2+ years).
• Experience with data governance approaches in large organisations.
• Experience collaborating with business, data and technical teams to document requirements.
• Experience assisting in implementing data governance projects.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Champions to review and ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with Group Data to implement governance practices.
• Provide recommendations on managing governance assets and controls.
• Support integration of governance risks and controls into ERMF.
• Review KPIs/KRIs for governance and propose improvements.
• Assess remediation plans for governance controls and adjust as needed.
• Administer data governance services such as our Data Certification Scheme.
• Measure control effectiveness and report findings.
