Job summary

Tesco Insurance is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Insurance Money and Services team in Reigate or Edinburgh. The role focuses on building and maintaining data flows, data acquisition, and data marts to enable robust business analysis.

You’ll report to Data Engineering Leads and deliver projects within SLAs while engaging stakeholders at all levels. You’ll contribute to SAS-based applications, participate in data governance, and support end-to-end data requests with a view to ensuring a

• Ability to analyse and interpret data with investigative and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills with non-technical colleagues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data tools.
• Demonstrated organisational skills under tight deadlines.
• Attention to data accuracy before sharing with the business.
• Experience building working relationships and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate reports by collecting data from diverse sources.
• Develop and modify SAS-based applications to meet requirements.
• Advance data warehouse development using SAS/SQL.
• Create and maintain data dictionaries and governance for data warehouses.
• Troubleshoot data issues and ensure timely resolutions.
• Manage Data & BI requests for stakeholders with attention to accuracy.
• Collaborate with Data & BI team to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
