Job summary

Tesco Insurance & Money Services in Newcastle is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Operational Excellence team. You will use advanced analytics and modelling to solve complex problems, improve customer outcomes and drive business impact in our Claims operation.

This hybrid role requires experience with large datasets and AI/ML models, with hands-on work on predictive models, governance for data safety, and collaboration with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Databricks to build AI/ML models.
• Experience handling large, complex datasets.
• Ability to manage own workload and re-prioritise when required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication to share insights with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and improve predictive models in claims.
• Apply data science techniques to model customer behaviours for better decisions, journey and cost controls.
• Follow governance framework to keep data safe.
