Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Birmingham is seeking an M&E DC Engineer to manage day-to-day Data Centre facilities, ensuring critical and non-critical maintenance is performed on schedule and reactive work is completed within SLAs.

The role requires supervising contractors, applying a risk-based maintenance approach, and delivering safe, compliant operations in a data-centre environment. On-call duties and overtime are expected as part of the contract.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising contractors on-site with a focus on health and safety.
  • Experience in critical change management and working in a critical environment.
  • Desirable: NVQ/BTEC/apprenticeship in building trades; knowledge of safety/environmental requirements.
  • Must have a clean driving licence and be based within one hour from site.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and ensure all Critical Facility PPMs are carried out to schedule and close reactive works per SLA.
  • Ensure maintenance aligns with CBRE H&S procedures and permit-to-work system where applicable.
  • Provide emergency response standby and call-out, with timely escalation of urgent issues.
  • Coordinate with clients and CBRE management to satisfy contract KPIs and SLAs.
  • Train to become an Electrical Technician and progress to CBRE Authorized Person LV/HV as applicable.
