Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Centre Technician for our Hayes site within Data Centre Solutions. You will support the site team with Planned Preventative Maintenance, reactive tasks, and supervision of sub-contractors across M&E services.

The role involves electrical, gas, fire alarm, and sprinkler system work, issuing access permits, and ensuring safety compliance. You will collaborate with the client and management team, maintain documentation, and assist in quotations for extra works.

Qualifications

• Trained in a technical discipline with apprenticeship/NVQ level 3 and BS7671 2008 IEE Wiring Regulation knowledge.
• Experience in critical maintenance environments and UPS/BMS knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good understanding of permit-to-work systems and health & safety requirements.
• Willingness to learn, develop skills, and work in mixed-skill teams to meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Resolve and complete day-to-day work orders to meet customer satisfaction and SLA targets.
• Maintain up-to-date log of work completed in the CMMS (Mainstream SI-7).
• Qualify and act as an Appointed Person (AP) within 6 months of on-boarding.
• Carrying out isolations and reinstatement of Electrical, Gas, Fire Alarms and Sprinkler systems where authorised.
• Issue permits for access, maintenance and project activities on site.
• Ensure contractors and CBRE staff comply with safety and security requirements.
• Provide cover for holidays, training and sickness within the shift team.
• Track and complete Critical Services Planned Preventative Maintenance and monitor environmental systems.
• Provide condition assessments of plant and equipment.
• Log and action out-of-line incidents; update reports and infrastructure mapping.
• Ensure adherence to CBRE/Client processes and follow-through on reports and handovers.
