Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a data centre operations team in Central London. You will oversee critical electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems, coordinate engineering activities, and drive reliability and uptime targets.

The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, data centre operations, and proven leadership to mentor engineers and technicians while collaborating with facilities, IT and security teams.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in data centre operations or a similar critical infrastructure environment.
• Strong leadership and team management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate engineering activities within the data centre to ensure performance, efficiency and reliability of critical systems.
• Lead and supervise engineers and technicians, providing guidance and training.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritise maintenance, repairs and upgrades to minimise downtime and maintain uptime SLAs.
• Enforce safety protocols to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with facilities, IT operations, and security to optimise data centre operations.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts for procurement and services.
• Maintain technical documentation (SOPs, EOPs, MOPs, safety rules, risk assessments).
• Participate in capacity planning and expansion projects for growth.
• Act as escalation point for incidents.
