Job summary

CBRE Managed Services Ltd in London Docklands is seeking a Data Centre Shift Leader to oversee M&E systems and HV operations within a high-availability data centre. The role requires strong leadership of a shift team, hands-on supervision, and a focus on safety and operational excellence.

You will manage subcontractors, ensure adherence to SOPs/PTW, and drive continuous improvement of safe systems of work while maintaining equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising others in a critical environment.
• Valid HV AP15 and familiarity with 18th edition wiring regs.
• Mechanical knowledge and strong health and safety understanding.
• Experience managing sub-contractors and permit-to-work systems.
• Excellent communication and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Operate M&E systems within the Data Centre, including HV isolations.
• Ensure Specialist Sub Contractors follow SOPs, MOP/PTW and client change requests.
• Sign off contractor worksheets; inspect quality and report findings to Engineering Manager.
• Record completed work orders and manage critical spares/stock used.
• Promote QHSE compliance; lead Toolbox Talks and training activities.
• Support training/development of shift technicians and apprentices.
• Line manage the shift team; approve holidays and conduct reviews.
