Job summary

AECOM Limited is seeking a Chartered Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for data centres within the Data Centre MEP team. You will drive projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the UK.

The role requires data centre design experience, strong technical input, and the ability to liaise with clients and project managers. Hybrid working from London Aldgate or St Albans is offered, with international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate experience in building services design with focus on data centres.
• Proficient with ETAP, Relux/Dialux, MS Project, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to liaise with clients and project managers and contractors.
• Knowledge of regulations and industry standards for RIBA plan stages.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; holds driving license and passport.
• Security clearance will be required for some projects.

Responsibilities

• Project planning and management for data centre electrical scopes.
• Provide specialised technical input to studies and design.
• Prepare contract documentation and specifications.
• Estimate costs and manage project budgets.
• Manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Compile technical project reports.
• Mentor junior engineers in the group.
• Present solutions to clients and peers.
• Participate in development of technical proposals.
• Attend design team meetings and site inspections.
