Job summary

Rehlko, a global leader in power and energy resilience, is seeking a Generator Service Engineer to support critical power infrastructure within data centres. The role involves maintenance and repairs on standby generators at fixed customer sites to ensure reliability and maximum uptime.

The position offers competitive hourly rates, an OTE of £55,000 - £65,000, and a benefits package including private healthcare, 33 days holiday, and on-call allowances.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical/electrical engineer or NVQ3-equivalent.
• Experience with generators and critical power systems.
• Good knowledge of engines and alternators.
• Experience in data centres or critical environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work safely in high-compliance environments.
• Excellent communication with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on standby generators.
• Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs for reliability.
• Work on fixed customer sites supporting critical power infrastructure.
• Build strong relationships with site teams and customers.
• Coordinate with Coordinators and Service Managers on schedules.
• Record all work in our management system.
• Participate in site or regional on-call rota (approx. 1 in 6).
• Adhere to Health & Safety, environmental and quality systems.
