Job summary

Rehlko in the United Kingdom seeks a Generator Service Engineer to support critical power infrastructure within data centre environments. You will perform planned maintenance and repairs on standby power equipment at fixed client sites, ensuring reliability and uptime.

This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, from engines to alternators, with strong fault finding and the ability to work safely in high-compliance settings.

Qualifications

• Time-served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or NVQ Level 3 equivalent.
• Experience on generators or critical power systems is advantageous.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems incl. engines and alternators.
• Experience in data centres, critical environments or facilities management is beneficial.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Able to conduct risk assessments and work safely in high-compliance environments.
• Excellent communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Reliable in fast-paced settings with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on standby power generation equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs.
• Work on fixed customer sites supporting critical power infrastructure.
• Build strong relationships with site teams and customers.
• Coordinate with Coordinators and Service Managers to maintain schedules.
• Accurately record all work using our bespoke management system.
• Participate in site or regional on-call rota (approximately 1 in 6).
• Adhere to HSE, environmental and quality systems.
