Job summary

RGR in Hounslow, near Heathrow, is recruiting a Data Centre Infrastructure Technician to join a 24/7 shift team at a financial services data centre. This hands-on role focuses on structured cabling, patching, racking, and live data halls, working to strict client standards.

You'll install and terminate copper and fibre cabling, manage cabinets, and support change control and e-permits. The environment is client-facing and fast-paced.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structured cabling and physical ICT installation (copper and fibre).
• Experience with racking, stacking, patching and cabinet installs.
• Comfortable in live, change-controlled environments and permit-to-work systems.
• Willing to work continental days and nights shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Installing and terminating copper and fibre cabling with neat cable management.
• Racking, stacking, patching, cabinet builds and decommissioning.
• Infrastructure install and break-fix tasks per method statements and permits.
• Surveying ServiceNow requests to verify cabling and cabinet specs before install.
• Monitoring site systems and escalating issues quickly.
• Maintaining clean data halls and stock records.
