Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an on-site Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician to operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in a Swindon data centre. You will troubleshoot facility issues, perform routine maintenance, and support Data Centre Operations technicians to ensure uptime and safety across critical infrastructure.

The role requires hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical systems, the ability to work at heights, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance for industrial facilities.
• Ability to work at heights and in tight spaces.
• Experience with generator, UPS, or building systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes and HVAC PMs.
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Adhere to safety procedures during work.
• Take daily readings and log data.
• Manage workflows and spare parts in CMMS.
• Supervise contractors during servicing.
