Job description

Our contract management team is seeking a Data & Finance Administrator to join the Birmingham office. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a confident, motivated, and efficient individual to contribute to a high standard of service. The primary responsibilities include providing Carter Jonas with a centralized service to optimize tenders, gain a competitive edge, and meet client KPIs. The key focus is on data analysis, manipulation, and extraction.

You will be part of a team of 16 professionals, including administrators, coordinators, analysts, and managers, based in our Birmingham hub. Our broader community comprises over 100 colleagues across various divisions, offering numerous events, socials, wellbeing initiatives, and fundraising activities.

Main Tasks:

  1. Analyzing WIP figures from Business Central, working with large data sets, formatting, and filtering for review by fee earners to maximize billing opportunities.
  2. Liaising with clients, job managers, and credit control to manage bad debts.
  3. Supporting process streamlining and reporting within the team.
  4. Reporting weekly/monthly updates to the team meetings.
  5. Cross-charging and consultant breakdown reporting.
  6. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships for smooth accounting processes.
  7. Liaising with internal stakeholders regarding billing.
  8. Collaborating closely with the Carter Jonas Finance department.
  9. Processing expenses.
  10. Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Success Factors:

Successful candidates will possess strong IT skills, particularly advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formatting). Experience in a busy finance environment or as an administrator is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Excellent communication skills, client relationship management, and the ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure are crucial.
