Job summary

Somerset Council's Adults Business Intelligence team seeks a Data Analyst to manage and analyse performance data, develop reporting solutions and provide insights for service delivery and improvement.

You'll work with colleagues across Adult Services, ensuring timely information supports operational, strategic and financial decisions. Hybrid working and DBS checks apply in a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with performance management or business intelligence systems.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex information.
• Experience producing clear reports and presenting findings to different audiences.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
• Organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confidence with databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools; understanding data governance.

Responsibilities

• Collect, validate and analyse data from a range of sources to support performance reporting.
• Produce reports, dashboards and insights that help shape service decisions and improvements.
• Coordinate data submissions and ensure reporting requirements are met accurately and on time.
• Respond to information requests and provide expert advice on data and performance information.
• Identify opportunities to improve information systems, processes and data quality.
• Work closely with colleagues, schools, partners and external organisations to meet information needs.
