Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Reporting and Data Analyst for Children's Social Care. The role focuses on transforming complex data into clear, actionable intelligence, delivering dashboards and statutory reports, and supporting a data warehouse rebuild within Families First delivery.

The post requires strong SQL, Power BI and the ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences, with hybrid working and an emphasis on improving services for children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience producing high-quality analytical reports and dashboards.
• Strong SQL skills for extraction, transformation and validation.
• Experience using Power BI and data visualization tools.
• Ability to analyse large datasets and communicate insights to non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of data quality, governance and assurance principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and performance products using SQL and Power BI.
• Deliver statutory reporting requirements for Children's Social Care.
• Analyse trends, demand and performance to inform decisions.
• Support forecasting and modelling for future service pressures.
• Ensure data quality and compliance across reporting systems.
• Assist in rebuilding the Children’s Social Care data warehouse and reporting solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and data models.
• Present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
