Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Data & Reporting Officer to provide vital operational data and reporting support for EFM services. You will build dashboards, validate data, and support ad-hoc reporting to ensure decisions are backed by accurate information.

Working under the Business Intelligence Analyst, you will handle data governance, produce routine reports, and assist with incident and statutory reporting while maintaining documentation and guidance for users.

Qualifications

• Educated to A Level (or equivalent qualifications or experience).
• Experience with developing and maintaining dashboards using Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Strong IT literacy including Google Workspace.
• Ability to write, edit and optimise SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
• Excellent analytical and data storytelling abilities.
• Proven customer service skills with data requests.

Responsibilities

• Dashboard Support & Maintenance: Develop, update, and maintain operational dashboards and visualisations.
• Data Cleansing & Preparation: Extract, format, and validate data for reporting while ensuring governance and data quality.
• Ad‑Hoc & Scheduled Reporting: Produce regular reports and handle data requests, escalating complex queries as needed.
• System & Documentation Support: Create and maintain data dictionaries and user guides for continuity.
• Information Quality & Governance: Apply data governance and GDPR policies when handling data.
• User Guidance: Provide support and troubleshooting for dashboards and data entry tools.
