Job summary

The Hyde in North West London is seeking an experienced Damp & Mould Manager to lead our damp, mould and condensation response across the housing portfolio, applying a solid understanding of Awaab's Law and social housing safety standards.

You will diagnose issues, manage cases end-to-end, oversee remedial works, and work with Repairs, Asset Management and Compliance teams to improve prevention and performance. Training and reporting are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience managing damp, mould and condensation in housing, property management or building maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of building pathology related to moisture, ventilation and disrepair.
• Solid understanding of Awaab's Law and housing health and safety legislation (HHSRS).
• Excellent investigative, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage caseloads end-to-end and guide remedial programmes.
• Strong communication with residents and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve the damp & mould service across the organisation, ensuring timely investigations and resolutions.
• Provide expert diagnosis and recommend remedial actions for damp and mould issues.
• Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law, including response processes and record-keeping.
• Collaborate with Repairs, Asset Management, Compliance and Housing teams to prevent damp & mould.
• Oversee delivery of remedial works, ensuring quality and value for money.
• Train staff in best-practice damp and mould identification and tenant engagement.
• Produce reports, dashboards and risk summaries for leadership and regulators.
• Engage with residents with clear and empathetic communication.
• Manage relationships with contractors, surveyors and external specialists.
